Tel-Aviv Port
in Collaboration with Senan Architects and Z.K-Reicher Landscape Architects
Our proposal blends careful preservation with a forward-looking vision.
By studying the layered histories of the Tel Aviv Port, the Levant Fair, and the Yarkon estuary, we identify their defining qualities and reimagine them for the future.
The Port Zone becomes an expanded waterfront of commerce, leisure, and maritime sports, extending the success of the existing port with new piers, open horizon views, and an accessible public beach.
The Levant Fair Zone is revived as a vibrant fairground for exhibitions, culture, and regional exchange. Historic and new buildings form a growing architectural showcase, supporting both events and daily urban life.
The Yarkon Estuary is restored as an ecological salt-marsh composed of islands, some accessible only to wildlife, creating a rare experience of true urban nature along the riverbanks.
Together, these three distinct zones highlight the unique character of the Yarkon peninsula as both a city-edge and a metropolitan landmark — a place where dense urban life meets open horizons and native landscape. The future promenade connecting Jaffa to Herzliya will loop through the site, reinforcing its role as a central junction on the Mediterranean coast.
On April 26, 2019, the Levant Fair reopens, 85 years after its original debut, envisioned once again as a hub of culture, commerce, and cosmopolitan energy.
